| Sam Hudak was born in Torrington, Connecticut on Feb 12, 1945, grew up there, and received his BS degree from the University of Connecticut in 1967. For 15 years, he taught music in the Chicopee, MA public school system before entering funeral service. In 1984, Sam graduated Suma Cum Laude with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science from the New England Institute of Fine and Applied Arts in Boston, MA. He has been at Carmon Community Funeral Home since 1987. Sam is licensed in CT and MA, and is a member of CFDA and NFDA. In 1999, he received his Certified Funeral Service Practitioner designation at the NFDA convention in Kansas City.
Sam's community involvement still revolves around music and he is director of the Farmington Valley Band of Collinsville, CT and the Pioneer Valley Concert Band of Chicopee, MA. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians and resides in Chicopee, MA.
