Christopher Barnes "CB" Pettee, 29, resided in Harrison, NY, formerly of Granby, beloved son of Richard and Ann (Brookfield) Pettee and treasured older brother to Victoria Pettee, passed away tragically on November 4, 2012. Christopher was born June 5, 1983 in Hartford and attended Granby schools, graduating from Granby Memorial High School, Class of 2002. A graduate of Elon University in North Carolina, Class of 2006, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management with a Minor in Business Administration. Christopher was a sports enthusiast with a real passion for soccer. He joined the Elon University Men's Soccer Team and later fulfilled his dreams of being a part of the game through coaching. Christopher coached a youth soccer program in the Elon community while at college, was the assistant coach for the Women's Berlin High School team for two years and his latest coaching calling was for the Men's East Granby High School team, this being his fourth season.
Christopher was a Fitness Manager at the New York Sports Club in West Hartford and was later promoted to the White Plains, NYSC. Christopher truly enjoyed his career in personal fitness training as he was able to help others see their own potential. He was an inspiration to so many people but especially those also affected by Cystic Fibrosis. His determination and spirit set a new standard in how people cope with the disease. Christopher had a desire to live life to the fullest and to make a difference in people's lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 9th, 10 a.m. at St. Therese Church, 120 West Granby Rd., Granby. Burial will follow in Granby Cemetery. Christopher's family will receive friends on Thursday, November 8th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby.
