John A. Griffin, 56, of Windsor, beloved husband of Deborah (DeNino) Griffin, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2013. He was born on October 25, 1956, the son of Jean (Gray) Griffin and the late Frank M. Griffin. A lifelong resident of Windsor, John was a graduate of Windsor High School with the Class of 1974. John was owner / operator of J.D. Roofing for many years. He enjoyed fishing, the beach, swimming and spending time watching NASCAR and the New York Giants. He had a love for cake and ice cream. John was a kind, caring, devoted and loving man with a great sense of humor who will be greatly missed by all. Along with his wife Deborah, of over 16 years and his mother Jean, he leaves his daughter, Tracey Duval of Windsor, son, Kevin Duval of Hartford; his brothers, David Griffin and his wife Mary of Lake Ariel, PA and James Griffin and his wife Sherry of Manchester; his sister, Cheryl Mulder and her husband Terry of Windsor; his granddaughter and the apple of his eye, Amber Champagne of Windsor; his mother-in-law, Mildred DeNino of Windsor, a brother-in-law, Russell DeNino and his wife Karen of Windsor Locks, sisters-in-law, Diane Pearl and her husband Jerry of Colchester and Joan DeNino of Windsor and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Carl "Jack" and Roger DeNino. His family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor.
