Shamonique Narlease Hondasha Harvey, 21, of Hartford, beloved daughter of Raynette Woodard-Adams, passed away suddenly on Saturday, (November 17, 2012) in Windsor. Born in Hartford on November 18, 1990, daughter of Raynette Woodard-Adams and the late Hughley James Harvey, Shamonique was a lifelong resident of Hartford and attended Hartford Public Schools including A.I. Prince Technical School and Weaver High School. She graduated from the Urban League of Greater Hartford in Hartford and had been continuing her education in criminal justice at Lincoln Technical College and Tunxis Community College. For the last several years, she had worked as a hairdresser and cosmetologist and was well-known for her work throughout the Hartford area. Shamonique was very particular about her hair, nails, make-up, and clothing. She loved shopping, cooking for her family and friends, and spending time with her family, especially her nephews. She attended Walk-in-the-Light Deliverance Church in Hartford and the First Cathedral in Bloomfield. She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother, Raynette Woodard-Adams and husband, Michael Adams of Hartford; four brothers, Michael Dyshawn Preston Woodard of Hartford, Rashamel Dimitri James Woodard of Hartford, Senior Chief Willie James Harvey, U.S.N. and his wife Monica Monique currently stationed in Japan, and Kenneth Bernard Harvey of South Carolina; two sisters, Iesha Therea Canty of Hartford and Sharmerra China Canty of Manchester; thirteen nieces and nephews, Chrishaun Makari Preston Woodard, Rashamel Dimitri James Woodard, Jr., Brandon Shamir Tyce Lewis, Bryson Tylon Lewis, Devon James, Deavien Japri, DeNyra Janae-Marie, Jayden Demarcus, Jaylen Demario, Lorenzo Bernard Young, Jala Harvey, Kentavious Harvey, and Kentarious Harvey; her step brother, Jermaine White of Hartford; her God mother, Carol Lewis of East Hartford; two God daughters, Kiley McCoy and Saniyah Dickerson; a God brother, William Carl Mathis of Hartford; two God sisters, Shamesha Humphrey of Hartford and Marquis Gordon of Hartford; eight aunts, Nikki Marie Holliday and her husband Kevin of Texas, Shelley Marlease Woodard of Atlanta, GA, Constance Monique Woodard of Hartford, Antoinette Holliday of Manchester, Barbara Middleton of Hartford, Kimberly Byrd of Hartford, Crystal Byrd of Middletown, and Stephanie Byrd of Bloomfield; a very special, loving, tender, great aunt, Glenda Aleen Woodard and her husband Willie Frank of Windsor; her boyfriend and the love of her life, Roosevelt Holmes of Windsor; her best friend, Charles Jackson of East Hartford; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Besides her father, Hughley James Harvey, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Annie Ruth Woodard and Preston Collins, Jr.; and by her aunt who was her mother's twin sister, Annette Woodard. Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 26, 9-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A funeral procession lead by a white horse-drawn hearse will follow to the Spring Grove Cemetery in Hartford.
