William C. “Skip” McConnell
Beloved husband of Germaine R. McConnell passed away suddenly of natural causes on February 10, 2007. William was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling even after he became disabled and was an active Director of the Central Connecticut Bowling Association. He leaves his wife, sons, Kenneth R. McConnell and Daniel W. McConnell and daughter-in-law Cheri D. McConnell and cherished grandson, Gavin William McConnell, all of Ellington; his father, Clarence W. McConnell of Vernon; his mother-in-law, Antonia J. Carrier, of Vernon; his sisters, Sharon L. Damaschi, of Sewell, NJ and Kathleen A. O(TM)Hanlon of Douglas, MA; his brother-in-law Roger N. Carrier and his wife Teresa D. Carrier of Vernon; his nephews, David M. Carrier and Brian A. O(TM)Hanlon; his nieces Abby M. Principato, Brenda L. Damaschi, Keri C. Damaschi and Melissa A. O(TM)Hanlan. He was predeceased by his mother, Faith E. McConnell, his father-in-law, Napoleon O. Carrier and his niece, Jodi K. Carrier. Family and friends may gather, Wednesday, 9 a.m., at the Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, (Rt. 83) Vernon, follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 18 North Main Street, 3rd Floor, West Hartford, CT 06107.
