Chester A. Woffard, Jr. Obituary

Chester A. Woffard, Jr., 85, of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Williams) Woffard, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Toledo, OH to the late Chester Sr. and Sarah (White) Woffard, he has been a Hartford resident for most of his life. Chester served his country proudly with the US Army Air Corps during WWII. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards and working on cars. Chester was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed his fishing trips with his two brothers and father. He is survived by his sons, Brian Woffard, of Hartford, and Chester Woffard, III, of Alexandria, VA; his step-sons, Arthur Williams and his wife Belinda, of Windsor, and Tony Williams and his wife Patsy, of Bloomfield; his brother, Herbert Morris, of Hartford; his grandchildren, Qiona Woffard, of Windsor and Kai White, of Manchester; his great-grandchildren, Patricia Jade and Isaiah White; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son Craig Woffard, his brother Andrew Morris, and his sister Rosetta Morris. A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Tuesday, May 15 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Chester's name to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
