Laverne E. "Andy" Anderson, 73, of Windsor, beloved husband of Barbara E. (France) Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (May 20, 2012). Born in Vienna, WV, son of the late Dewey and Daisy Virginia (Rawson) Anderson, he lived in Wheeling, WV and Toledo, OH before moving to Windsor in 1969. Andy graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1956 and received his Bachelors Degree in 1962 from West Virginia University. For 25 years, he was employed by the YMCA as a Camp Director in Toledo, OH, and as a Branch Director of the Tobacco Valley YMCA in Windsor and Bloomfield. Andy was a member of the AYR and served on many committees. For the past 25 years, he was a Financial Advisor with Capital Choice Financial Services. An active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he sang in the church choir, was former president of the Church Council, and served on the Education, Missions, Nominating, and Endowment Committees. For the past 28 years, he sang with the Manchester Silk City Barbershop Chorus. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Anderson and his wife Lisa, and their four children of Fishers, IN, and Thomas Anderson and his wife Jennifer, and their three children of Monterey, CA; and a sister, Evelyn and her husband James York of Belpre, OH. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 4 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church, 180 Park Ave., Windsor, with the Rev. John Gerlach officiating. His family will receive friends following the service at the church.
