Eleanor Parker Roddy, formerly of Suffield, CT, passed away after a short illness in Falmouth, MA on Sunday, December 9, 2012.
She is predeceased by her best friend and beloved husband, Jack Roddy, her daughter, Susan DiCesare, her son, Mark Roddy and many sisters and brothers. She leaves her daughter, Patricia Thatcher of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, granddaughter Katye Charette and her family of Cape Elizabeth, Maine and grandsons Scott Thatcher of Weymouth, MA and Christopher DiCesare of Salem, MA and son-in-law Joseph DiCesare of Redding, CT.
Eleanor resided for many years in Longmeadow, MA where she was an officer in St Mary's Guild and the Longmeadow Maternal Association, and was active in girl scouts and cub scouts.
She and her husband enjoyed the Town of Suffield from the early 1970's during which time she was on the Board of the Suffield Garden Club, the Suffield Woman's Club, was a member of the Auxiliary of the Village for Families and Children and was a communicant at Sacred Heart Church.
Eleanor was an avid outdoor enthusiast. She and Jack travelled across the United States camping and hiking. She enjoyed skiing, tennis, swimming, sewing, bridge and gardening. She was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield; followed by a luncheon in Fr. Ted Center the Parish Hall.
