Obituary

Anthony J Marino, 84, of Farmington/Avon, patriarch of the Marino family, beloved husband for 62 years of Jean (Gramegna) Marino died at home on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Born in Hartford, son of late Michele and Nanina (Mudano) Marino, he attended Hartford Public Schools and upon turning 18 joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He proudly and honorably served his country during the end of World War II. Tony worked as a talented bricklayer and later on as a residential home builder. Upon retiring he spent 6 months a year with Jean in his beloved Jupiter, Florida. He loved his retirement spending time between Westbrook and Jupiter, tending his gardens especially his roses, tomatoes, and fig trees and enjoying his friends.

Tony lived his life with a strong moral compass impressing those values on his family. He was a devoted family man and leaves behind his four children: Marsha Boschen of Avon, Michael Marino and his wife Cheryl of Unionville; Mark Marino and his wife Terrie of Chester; Sandi Dansereau and her husband Pierre of Farmington. He also leaves his treasured grandchildren who gave him so much joy: Jennifer Boschen, Rob Boschen, Brooke Kelly, John Marino, Mikaela Marino, Michael-Shane Marino, Danielle Albee, Devon Marino, Max Albee, Cody Marino, Daniel Mikulak, and Jacob Mikulak. He also leaves his sisters Sally(Joe) Yacavone, and Angie (Vito) Bianco; his brother Italo "Gino" (Susan) Marino; his sister-in-laws Dolores Caruso and Lucille (Leo) Santos, and brother-in-law Ritchie Valenti and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Marino and his son-in-law Robert Boschen.

The family wishes to thank the UCONN Cardiac Step Down Unit doctors and nurses who tenderly cared for Tony.

His family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 23 from 4-7 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
