Debi (Poglitsch) Laferriere, 60, of Rockville, beloved wife of Kenneth Laferriere, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in New Britain, the daughter of Ruth (Higley) Poglitsch of Rockville and the late Robert Poglitsch, she grew up in East Hartford and lived in Christmas, FL and Jackson, MS before returning to Connecticut six months ago. She was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1970. Debi worked at the former Cold Metal Products in New Britain where she met her soul mate Ken. They have been happily married for 12 years. She was a great cook and an avid and very skilled craft person. She loved to crochet, make candles, knit, and there wasn't a craft that she could not do. In addition to her husband and her mother, Debi is survived by her children, Traci Hurtado and Richard Pudelka, Jr.; her step children, Valdore Laferriere and his wife Lori of Oakville, and Danielle Laferriere of Bristol; three grandsons, Michael, Tyler and Joshua; her sister, Donna Hardesty and her husband Robert of South Windsor; one niece, Christina Hardesty and partner Jennifer Sposito and a nephew, Brian Hardesty and his wife Denise. Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 1 – 4 PM at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Francis for the wonderful care provided to their beloved Debi.
