Local Grief Support

After the funeral is over, our care for families and individual continues. Our funeral homes have been trailblazers in developing community programs that support local residents dealing with death. We are involved with local grief counselors and community organizations. Our staff works closely with clergy and physicians to provide team support to families, and we participate in crisis teams and loss awareness programs at high schools and colleges to help students deal with loss.

A wide range of grief support and bereavement programs are available to assist people coping with a loss. Below are those available in our region. These organizations offer help to people who have experienced loss through death. Please contact any one of our funeral homes to learn more about how we can help you, or your funeral director can offer additional information at your request.

Mary's Place

A Center for Grieving Children and Families
More than a decade ago, we helped to create “Mary’s Place, A Center for Grieving Children and Families”, a nonprofit organization where grieving Connecticut children and teens can share their experiences, receive support and find comfort. The specialty is in peer support groups for children ages 3 – 12 and teens 13 – 18, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or significant person.
